I’m usually pretty terrible at drawing, but I was pretty proud of the concept for this line so I felt that I should at least give it a go! I decided to base this line of clocks made of different materials (gold, iron/steel, wood) in order to tackle different styles as it evolves, even though it’s going to make typing them a bit of a pain. Besides that, I really wanted to invoke what I love about the already existing inanimate object lines, and I hope that comes across in these ones!
I felt that the line should start of at least somewhat cute, so I decided to start with a pocket watch design. I honestly couldn’t be bothered to even attempt drawing a chain, so I got around that by implying that it’s holding on the the end with wibbly-wobbly psychic stuff.
[mini - minute]
This one I feel suffers a little from middle stage syndrome - I’m not entirely happy with how the clock-hands came out, but I feel that they do a decent enough job. I based them very loosely on a dream-catcher as well as a clock, but I decided to go for a steel-grey finish to reinforce its mechanical nature.
[epoch - watch]
This is the one that I’m probably the most pleased with. My lack of art skills shines through a little bit, but I am really happy with the concept of this one. I was mainly trying to go for a very mysterious imposing design with this one, and I feel that being constantly flanked by four massive clock hands certainly helps. I’m also pretty pleased with the name, even though it’s probably going to change.
[chrono - monolith]
